Introducing AFW

Why we built a native-first, zero-VDOM framework that compiles JSX to real DOM.

AFW compiles JSX into DOM creation calls and reactive bindings. State changes run the bindings that depend on them, without creating a virtual DOM tree. Keyed lists still reconcile their items when the list changes.

What the model provides

  • No virtual DOM — a change updates only the DOM node bound to it.

  • Standards-based components — every component is a real HTMLElement.

  • Fine-grained reactivity — the compiler turns $state, $derived, and $effect into signals and computations; dependency tracking happens as they run.

The project is still early. The core is fast and the programming model is deliberately small, and we would value your feedback — particularly bug reports from real applications.
